Sending Your Timesheet to an Invoice
The quickest way to get an invoice started is directly from the Timesheet view.
To bulk create invoices for ALL clients and projects in your Timesheet, click the Create Invoices button displayed to the right of the Timesheet header beneath the Export menu:
To create an invoice for a particular project, click the Export menu to the right of the Client - Project name, and select Create Invoice:
You'll be taken directly to the New Invoice screen with your invoice already started (and perhaps nearly completed!) for you. This screen is fully editable, and the table that contains your time entries behaves like a spreadsheet, so that you can conveniently make any final modifications needed to the invoice.
Add a new row by clicking the + Add Row button underneath the Day column, or the + button to the left of a row:
Delete a row by selecting the Delete button (trash can) to the right of the row:
You can click directly on any cell to edit it directly.
Rearrange the Order of the rows by clicking on the vertical up-down arrow to the left of the column. And to Duplicate a Row, click the circular arrow just to the left of the rearrange arrow. Again, the + button on the far-left is another way to Add a New Row.
When you're finished editing, click the Save button. Or, use the drop down button next to the Save button ("Save and...") to perform another action as you save the invoice (ie. Export to FreshBooks, Email invoice to client).
Use "Save And..." to save email the invoice directly to your client.
After you save your invoice, you'll be taken back to your main Invoices List, where you can:
- Manage the state of your invoices
- Download an invoice to Excel or PDF
- Email an invoice directly to a client for electronic payment
Managing Invoices
You can manage existing invoices from the Invoices List, which can be accessed by clicking the Invoices tab at the very top of your screen.
Sample Invoice & Electronic Payment Options
Here is a sample invoice, which can be emailed to a client via the Email to Client option. The Pay Now buttons at the bottom of the screen allow them to pay your invoice via PayPal or LawPay - resulting in you getting paid faster!
